Physical Description: Bodice of brown and cream striped silk. High band collar. Long sleeves, back hook and eye closure. Center front: horizontal tucking bordered with velvet bands in brown. Overlay of one-inch lace from neck to waist line. Eighteen small, brown velvet-covered buttons, nine per side in groups of three. Center inset has five rows of flat lace: the lower edge of bodice gathered to 3 1/2-inch peplum. Skirt is floor-length, striped brown and cream silk. Side placket with hook and eye closure. Sixteen pleats from waist, which are eleven inches long. Machine made with some hand-stitching. One belt of self-fabric, one inch wide, hook and eye fastening.
