Physical Description: | Straw hat with flat brim. A 2.5 inch black grosgrain band surrounds the crown of the hat. Label on sweat band of hat is marked "Davenport Sport Shop, Spokane, Wash." |
Description: | This hat was purchased at the Davenport Sport Shop, which opened in 1919, and was located at the corner of Sprague and Lincoln as part of the Davenport Hotel. The Davenport Sport Shop later expanded along the Lincoln Street side of the hotel; several years later it moved further east, where it remained until the hotel closed. |
