Physical Description: | This patchwork quilt has squares of blue, yellow, black and deep muted red prints that alternate with white squares to form the design. Description: | Family history states that Clarissa Judd used a variety of cotton fabrics to make this quilt in Farmington, Connecticut before 1820. She never married and, by 1850, was living in Hubbard, Wisconsin with her (brother?) Edward and his family. Eventually her quilt migrated west to Portland, Oregon with her nephew; his son later brought the quilt to Spokane, Washington. |
