Physical Description: | Silver chalice (A) decorated with foliate, swag and ram motif with a lid (B). Inscribed on side "Mean Well" inside banner motif. Under banner is a seated man holding a leaf or fan. Four symbols on bottom rim of lid: crowned leopard, English lion, crown and snake. |
Description: | Louis and Verus Davenport and their son Lewis all had an eye for acquiring beautiful decorative arts. In 1987 Lewis bequeathed over 125 family pieces to this museum, along with funds to preserve them and to create expanded museum galleries. |
