| Physical Description: | Wooden rifle with a leather strap, the barrel is painted silver and the stock is natural wood. There is a metal pin coming out of the trigger area of the rifle for inserting in the hand of the doll. |
| Description: | German immigrant Albert Schoenhut charmed American children with his wooden toy sets. His toy company produced the popular set, "Teddy Roosevelt's Adventures in Africa," from 1912 to 1919. Children in the Cowles family of Spokane enjoyed this set of animals and characters with moveable joints. Painted-on glasses and moustache make the Teddy Roosevelt doll unmistakable. His son Kermit, the official safari photographer, likely inspired the other khaki-clad doll in the set. |
