Title: | Sarah Easton Jordan's Woven Coverlet |
Object Type: | Coverlet |
Participants: | |
Physical Description: | This coverlet appears to be woven of dark blue wool and white cotton. The design consists of straight lines that cross at 90 degree angles. The colors alternate every two inches or less. It is seamed at the center and hemmed at top and bottom with selvage edges. |
Description: | This coverlet is attributed Sarah Easton Jordan (1808-1882), who was born in New York, moved to Pennsylvania, and died in Michigan. By alternating the white cotton and blue wool every two inches or less, she created a coverlet that probably looked very inviting on cold winter nights. |
