Description: | The 1859 Comstock Lode discovery provided a large silver supply, and silver flatware became a dining essential. New serving pieces were introduced during the 1880s and 1890s, before the number of pieces in any one pattern began to decline. Grace Campbell owned an assortment of flatware pieces in various styles, including this "GMC" monogrammed, sterling and steel carving set by International Silver Company in the 1908 pattern, "Rosalind, Old". |
