Physical Description: Red abalone shell with naturally formed holes and outdents that follow a curved line near the edge of the shell. This line ends is a raised slightly spiraled point. The shell has curved grooves that follow a path as the holes and lines of varying degrees of red that spiral out across the shell's surface from the same slightly spiraled point in the opposite direction. The shell's surface includes a silver reflective shine and a multi-colored curved line near the spiral's center. The reverse side has the same sliver reflective shine and multi-colored spots. There is a shelf like rim around one edge of the shell.
Description: After Grace Campbell died in 1924 and her home became a museum, the family donated several small collections, probably amassed by Amasa B, Campbell (1845-1912). These ranged from souvenir paperweights and military ribbons, to a collection of seashells and mineral specimens gathered from regional mining sites.
