Description: Julia Stevens Crosby (1798-1879) of East Hardwick, Vermont made quilts for some or all of her five surviving children, inscribing each with her child's name and birth date, as well as those of ancestors. Three nearly identical Crosby quilts have been located. Julia made this one for her son, John Quincy Adams Crosby, who had moved to Iowa by 1860.
