| Physical Description: | This quilt is an example of the Tree of Life or Pine Tree style. Its greens are fading to tan. The top of the quilt is cotton, hand pieced, set on point, alternating blocks, no sashing, top border 5", bottom border 5 1/2", good condition, faded, fugitive dye. The edge of the quilt is machine stitched, hand sewn back, home-cut bias binding, front turned back, very good condition. The batting is cotton, light weight. The quilting is hand quilted, 6 top stitches/inch, stitches medium and even, quilting pattern is squares. The back is off-white cotton muslin, good condition. |
| Description: | The unknown quilt maker who pieced the "pine trees" in this quilt probably originally used red, green, and white fabrics. Over time, some of the greens have faded to tan. |
