| Physical Description: | The 72 "Log Cabin" blocks in this quilt were constructed by sewing strips of fabric around central pink squares. The quilt's predominant colors are gray, pink, and wine-colored red. The quilt is not backed, but straight binding was applied. |
| Description: | Catherine Bush Gwin made this quilt in Iowa around 1881. Later, her daughter took the quilt to Utah, and a granddaughter brought it to Spokane. This type of quilt, known as a "Log Cabin," was especially popular during the last quarter of the nineteenth century. |
