| Physical Description: | Purdey double barrel percussion muzzle loader. Cach bore at muzzle .695. Damascus barrels, on barrel (engraved) "J. Purdey. 511 ½ Oxford Street, London." This is an engraved, hand-crafted firearm. Silver escutcheon at wrist has no dedication to owner. The enlarged trigger guard suggests it was made to order for northern latitudes, needing glove or mittened handling in the field. |
