Physical Description: | Hexagons in a variety of colors were pieced to make 72 full "flowers" and nine "half-flowers" in this "Grandmother's Flower Garden" quilt. The center of each "flower" is yellow. The "flowers" are separated by two rows of white hexagons. A single row of white hexagons forms a border on two sides. The quilt is bound with purple bias tape. |
Description: | The women of the Second Presbyterian Church in Spokane used a variety of fabrics to make this quilt around 1940. The design, known as "Grandmother's Flower Garden," was especially popular during the 1920s and 1930s. |
