Physical Description: Miniature oval portrait of a woman, possibly Marie Antoinette, painted in oil on porcelain surface. The portrait is mounted in its original pierced Florentine composition and gilded frame.
Description: The Campbell family may have purchased this miniature portrait during their tours of the Middle East and Europe in 1904 and 1909-1910. Popular fascination with world exploration grew through the 19th century and these elaborately framed miniatures were popular decorative arts during this time.
