Physical Description: Petrified wood, fluorescent. Dark colored wood, with crystals in a crack in the center and on one side.
Description: Do you recognize any of these petrified wood species? An ancient petrified forest, discovered near Vantage, Washington in the early 1930s, showed evidence of a long-ago lush, wet climate. Some species that flourished during that Miocene period are now extinct - but not all.
