Physical Description: | The small pieced blocks of this quilt are separated by gray sashing. There are no borders. Most of the blocks are made up of only squares, but two rows contain blocks consisting of squares and triangles. The stitching is all by hand. |
Description: | Ruth Brockway (1873-1963) used a variety of fabrics when she pieced the "Nine Patch" and "Shoo Fly" blocks for this quilt. The fabrics appear to range from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century. Miss Brockway made this quilt by hand, probably in Iowa. |
