Title: My Father's Workbench
Object Type: Sculpture

Physical Description: The artist's father's tools, found objects and actual workbench with neon element added.
Description: Local artist Ken Yuhasz honored his father by recreating his home workbench, complete with all its tools and a drill press whimsically outlined in colorful neon. As a teenager, Yuhasz repaired household appliances with his father and appreciates the craftsmanship and style of these everyday objects. His neon embellishments add a personal touch. Yuhasz has a particular fondness for Art Deco design and engineering; his interest in early aircraft often manifests in winged motifs found in his work. He looks for a visual or verbal pun that will transform an appliance - or a vehicle - into something that makes viewers smile.
