Description: Elizabeth Gale married young Walla Walla lawyer Miles Poindexter in 1892. Artist A. Roszmann painted her portrait in Paris the same year. Miles became a U.S. Representative, Senator, and Ambassador to Peru. Elizabeth published her literary letters, "A Senator's Wife," that provoked wide discussion.
