Physical Description: Small metal lidded beer stein with body painted in white enamel and marked with crown and HB in blue paint on side. White handle with connected silver lid. Top of lid stamped with "KCL. HOFBRAUHAUS", image of crown and "HB". Underside of lid stamped with "K.KRATZ, MOOSACH, 123, and MUNCHEN.
Description: Like many young well-to-do girls of her time, Helen Campbell (1892-1967) enjoyed collecting dolls and accessories representing different countries. Popular fascination with world exploration grew through the 19th century. Wealthy families took Grand Tours of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including the Campbell's visits to Egypt and Europe in 1904 and 1909-1910.
