Description: | Like many young well-to-do girls of her time, Helen Campbell (1892-1967) enjoyed collecting dolls representing different countries, like this Mexican figurine. Popular fascination with world exploration grew through the 19th century. Helen's uncle, Issac Newton Campbell, might have brought this to her from his visit to Tiajuana, Mexico in 1900. |
