Physical Description: Dress is made up of a skirt and separate bodice. Skirt has a black twill waistband with triple hook/eye closure. A black satin cummerbund is part of the top of the skirt, with a sash and braided tassels at back. Under-skirt is black satin and is tiered. The over-skirt is black net which is heavily embroidered with waterlilies, green foliage and white blossoms. Tiered ruffles of black netting make a panel at the back of the skirt and around the hem of the skirt. Bodice closes at center back with hook/eye closures; bodice and sleeves are of the heavily embroidered net fabric. A black satin V-neck vest is attached over the net fabric. Sleeves are three quarter length, with a peek-a-boo opening spanned by black ribbon. Delicate enameled buckles are attached at each shoulder of the black satin vest. A delicate gauzy net fabric peeks out from the neckline, adding body to the bodice. Bodice is lined with black fabric. There appears to be pieces of black cotton that have been added at some point, possibly to allow more room in the garment.
