Description: | Attorney Joseph McCarthy, the son of Irish immigrants, moved to Spokane in 1908 along with his brother, Dr. Henry H. McCarthy who became the chief surgeon at Sacred Heart Hospital. The label of this shirt indicates that it was sold at the Davenport Sport Shop, where Joseph must have shopped. The Davenport Sport Shop, opened in 1919, was located at the corner of Sprague and Lincoln as part of the Davenport Hotel. |
