Physical Description: | This hand-woven blue and white overshot coverlet is made from two woven panels each 35 in. wide and seamed in the center. The seam is well matched. The seam stitching and hemming are very well done. There is a "snag" in the form of a long loop of blue yarn on one side. |
Description: | William Archibald McEachern (1870-1935) always treasured this overshot coverlet. It was a gift from the aunts who had raised him after his mother died when he was about two years old, and his father remarried. "Archie", as he was known, was born in Ontario, Canada, and came to Rosalia in 1892. He soon settled in Latah where he eventually became a bank manager. |
