Physical Description: | Colonial Revival style chest of drawers consists of curved case with four drawers fitted with sandwich style pressed glass knobs. A setback case on top has three small curved drawers. Small oval mirror attaches to top of bureau. Carved stiles at front edges of case have husk and twist motif. Bureau is machine made of mahogany with some handwork. |
Description: | For the Campbell's family and guest bedrooms, decorator William Otis chose the Colonial Revival style, with its white painted woodwork and soothing pastel wall and ceiling papers. To fill the large "yellow" guest bedroom, he selected an expensive Axminster carpet and a suite of mahogany furniture: four post bed, bureau (cheffonier) with shaving mirror, and dressing table with mirror. |
