Physical Description: | Empire Revival style dressing table (A) with slightly curved front has three upper drawers above two half drawers which flank the kneehole. Legs have bundled reed carving on top and twist carving below, terminating in small, round ring feet. A pair of carved supports frame an oval mirror (B). Drawers have cast glass sandwich style knobs. |
Description: | For the Campbell's family and guest bedrooms, decorator William Otis chose the Colonial Revival style, with its white painted woodwork and soothing pastel wall and ceiling papers. To fill the large "yellow" guest bedroom, he selected expensive Axminster carpet and a suite of mahogany furniture: four post bed, bureau (cheffonier) with shaving mirror, and dressing table with mirror. |
