Title: | Lone Star Quilt |
Object Type: | Quilt |
Participants: | |
Physical Description: | This pieced quilt has a large eight-pointed star in the center, made from diamonds in a variety of cotton prints that alternate with plain white diamonds. Three thin fabric strips are appliqued in a zig zag shape in each corner. There is no border. The quilt appears to be entirely hand pieced and hand quilted. The green binding has been applied by hand. |
Description: | Zigzag strips appliqued in each corner make this quilt sizzle. This is an unusual corner treatment for a Lone Star quilt, and it infuses a sense of energy. The quilt is thought to have been either brought to or made in Stevens County, but the creative maker is unknown. |
