Physical Description: This quilt has sixteen dark diagonally aligned squares with corners touching in the "Log Cabin" design. The centers are flannel centers, selvage or common cloth. The back is heavily pieced and includes log cabin blocks not tied or quilted. Some machined lines run through to hold the top and back together. The binding is straight cut binding in various red prints and rough weaves.
Description: This type of quilt, known as a "Log Cabin," was especially popular during the last quarter of the nineteenth century. Although most of the center squares are the traditional solid red, the remaining centers were made from a wide range of fabrics.
