| Description: | Eastern Washington's sparse landscape and light quality drew photographer Kristin Capp in 1994 to Soap Lake, where she encountered the nearby Hutterite community. She "observed their ability to strike a peaceful and productive balance between religious faith, commitment to community, and the act of working the land" and photographed this communal, German-speaking group extensively over five years. This view is "Linda Gross, Near Bruce Storage Shed." |
