Physical Description: This blue and natural colored overshot coverlet is made of two panels which are stitched together at the center. The record notes "8 harness loom woven with a "maple leaf or olive. The coverlet is hemmed on both ends. It appears to be made of linen and wool.
Description: The repetition of a "leaf" pattern produces a dazzling effect in this piece. Overshot coverlets like this one were woven by both home weavers and professionals. They were especially popular during the first half of the nineteenth century.
