Physical Description: | This quilt is a variation of Seven Sisters style. The blocks themselves are pieced of tiny scraps of (perhaps) used clothing. There is an 1876 print with chickens, as well as other conversation prints, plaids and ginghams. The fabric that puts the quilt together is an indigo with Cheddar small flowers available from 1850 on. Three irregular pieces in the outer edges are made of 1890s cadet blue. |
Description: | Many interesting fabrics comprise this quilt, including a print with chickens, labeled "1876." The quilt is attributed to fourteen-year-old Josie Hamilton. |
