Physical Description: Sterling silver lemon fork in Whiting's Palm pattern including engraved "Helen" on the handle reverse near the tip.
Description: The 1859 Comstock Lode discovery provided a large silver supply, and sterling silver spoons, forks and baby cups made popular gifts among those who could afford them. Whiting patented this "Palm" pattern lemon fork in 1887. Inscribed "Helen", it was likely a gift to young Helen Campbell, born in 1892.
