Physical Description: Long-sleeved bodice is lined and has nine stays. Lace forms or covers the collar, shoulder area and undersleeves from elbow to wrist. Hooks and eyes, 19 total, form closure up the bodice front, shoulders and collar. Inside the bodice waistband is a white satin ribbon woven with orange colored thread: "Steffins (in script) SPOKANE, WASH." set between two heraldic symbols.
Description: As a married woman of means, Grace Campbell's lifestyle and her clothing showcased her husband's wealth. In 1905 or 1906 she contracted Spokane dressmaker and "ladies' tailor", May Steffins, to custom-make this two-piece dress of white moiré silk with lavender trim. The dress retained late Victorian features such as a high collar, tight sleeves, corseted waist, and wide skirt.
