Physical Description: | Metal lapel pin with a gold-colored metal blob (according to notes it is an Indian head....) on the end. |
Description: | Stick pins were an important personal accessory for men of Amasa B. Campbell's generation. The pins were not only ornamental, but also kept a man's cravat (necktie) in place. A mine owner like Amasa B. Campbell of Spokane, Washington, could well have sported a stickpin like this one, shaped like a gold nugget. The pin is one of six items collected by the Campbell-Powell family of Spokane, Washington, but little documentation exists for its use or specific association with the family. |
