Physical Description: | This piece is made up of nine bright yellow blocks surrounded by white sashing and white borders. Each block is embroidered with a motif featuring a boy or a girl. The top is embellished with turquoise thread and green thread. The backing is a print with small yellow flowers on a white background. The backing was tied to the front with green thread. There is no binding. |
Description: | Lydia Graebener Stelljes (1901-1992) probably embroidered the blocks in this piece during the 1950s in Lewiston, Idaho. Family history states that she assembled the blocks at a later date. She required assistance to finish the piece, as her eyesight was failing. |
