Description: | At dinnertime, dessert dishes were usually arranged upon the sideboard, while upper shelves displayed "cut glass, examples of hand painted French or German porcelain, 'antique' German or Italian glass, a German beer stein, a brass samovar, or a decorative piece of pottery - possibly Delft or majolica." The Campbell dining room followed the norms of their era, displaying both American silver and glass, as well as European items, possibly purchased during their travels. |
