Physical Description: | The top of this quilt is made of many pieces of multi-colored print cotton fabric, arranged so as to form rings. Solid orange and green square-shaped fabrics form the intersections of the rings, with pieces of solid mustard-colored fabric in between the rings. The backing is a solid golden-yellow fabric. The binding appears to be the same fabric as the backing, although it has apparently faded slightly on the top of of the quilt. The piece was quilted with golden-yellow thread. |
Description: | Nevada Allison Cash Lyle Van Pelt (1869-1947) likely made this quilt near Lewiston, Washington, during the 1930s. The "Double Wedding Ring" pattern was very popular at the time. According to family history, Nevada made quilts as a source of income. |
