Physical Description: Small ceramic stein, shiny glaze in brown, dark turquois on natural beige clay, design of stylized flowers, leaves, tendrils, background of waves on both sides of handle. Other area has relief of Davenport's Restaurant and words "503 Davenport's Restaurant Spokane, Wash. with daisy design on each, the #76 is enclosed in circle near handle.
Description: Following its opening in 1890, Davenport's Restaurant was a popular Spokane gathering place, updated in 1904 with a Mission Revival exterior and ornate interiors, such as the Italianate Hall of Doges, the Orange Bower men's bar, and Louis Davenport's own Art Nouveau apartment. By 1906, plans were afoot for a grand new Davenport Hotel, which opened in 1914 and incorporated the restaurant spaces.
