Physical Description: Davenport Hotel china place setting. Off-white background with gilt on fluted knobbed rim and gilt design of laurel leaves. Consisting of: A. Dinner Plate, B. Soup Bowl, C. Salad Plate, D. Bread Plate, E. Double handle soup cup, F. Cup and Saucer, G. Demitasse Cup and Saucer.
Description: A grand new Davenport Hotel opened next door to Davenport's Restaurant in 1914. Also managed by Louis Davenport, the hotel incorporated the former restaurant spaces and gained national recognition for its quality service. Countless community, corporate, and personal events were held there until its closure in 1985 and subsequent restoration and re-opening in 2001.
