Physical Description: Mid-Eastern street scene, background of buildings, archways, camel. Colors used are green, blues and beiges.
Description: Parlors and libraries reflected a family's values, and like many families of means, the Campbells filled theirs with books, sculptures, music, and travel souvenirs. Grace Campbell participated in the Spokane Society of Washington Artists, enjoyed visits to the Louvre while in Paris, and furnished the family's library with paintings, prints and framed photographs, including this watercolor landscape that was hanging on their library wall by 1913.

On painting, verso: "N 1793", pencil top center; "1793", pencil, center [these inscriptions are upside down to orientation of painting, obverse]. "W +???" three letters illegible, pencil, LLC, correct orientation to painting on obverse. "C4" or what appears to be a C4, LRC, pencil,correct orientation to painting on obverse. Backing was removed and replaced with archival material. Original inscriptions applied to new backing: "William Morris, Art Dealer, Framing a Specialty, Pictures Taken on Storage, Regilding, Telephone Red 1196, 248 Sutter Street, San Francisco." "Loaned by Mrs. W. W. Powell" "N2486.1". Some mathematical figures in pencil were inscribed on backing paper. 58 divided by two and 28 + 24. On painting obverse: Artist's signature: brown paint, LLC, "Mazini Cairo". Back of rabbet: "Our Mazini XXG", pencil, to center. Back of frame: masking tape marked "90".
