Physical Description: Cream colored plastic Colorimeter with brown cord for plugging in. There is a grey green knob and flip switch. The object measures in Percent Transmittance and Optical Density. There is an black label attached to the object (label maker tape) that says: No. 2 Machine.
Description: Dawn Mining Company operated the Midnite Mine on the Spokane Indian Reservation and a yellowcake processing mill in Ford, WA between 1955 and 1982. Contaminated structures, soil, and tailings have been buried into deep evaporation ponds at the mill site; the Midnite Mine was declared an EPA Super Fund site and cleanup is ongoing.
