Description: | Manufactured sacks made of cotton cloth were commonly used as flour packaging from the late 1800s to the 1960s. Centennial Mills was founded in Spokane in 1889. It grew rapidly and built or acquired mills in Portland, Oregon, and in other parts of Washington state. Centennial merged with United Pacific Co. (later Univar) in 1960 and was acquired by Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) in 1981. |
