Elliott is marked on both dial (usually indicates retailer) and movement (maker).
Description: In 1898 the Campbells contracted Cleveland interior decorator William Otis to specify furnishings for their new Spokane home. Otis selected high-quality wallpapers, floor coverings, window treatments, and major furnishings typical of those found in the homes of wealthy late 19th century families. The revival-style furniture was likely ordered from a Midwest manufacturer. The Campbell's main hall featured a gothic revival style including such heavily carved furniture as a lap robe chest, chair, and this tall clock, with face and works by J.J. Elliott of London, England.
