Description: Whether by necessity or by choice, resourceful people manage within their means - often by repairing, reclaiming or reprocessing what they have. Many objects within the Museum Collection exemplify Inland Northwest resourcefulness, including children's clothes reworked from adult clothing or patched as long as they could last. This coat was made for Rudolph Steitman, born in Fargo, North Dakota on March 12, 1900. The coat's use spanned two generations: Rudolph's wife Alice repaired Rudolph's coat again and again, as each of their boys made use of it.
