Physical Description: Multicolored beaded purse with gold chain handle, embossed gold mouth and clasp, crimson cotton satin lining, and multicolored beaded loops of fringe. The beading consists of stripes of solid color (from top: dark green, red, black, sea foam, bronze, dark blue, tan, purple, green, dark red, light blue, orange, and black), each stripe being six beads high.
Description: Beaded evening bags have been popular accessories for many decades. The Museum Collection preserves over 150 purses - made of leather, mesh, embroidery, yarn and sequin - in addition to dozens of Plateau Indian beaded bags.
