Physical Description: Flat, rectangular beaded evening bag with rigid gold metal rim, clasp and chain handle. Body of purse appears to be woven with solid beading. Beads are tiny and make up a simple floral design at center with geometric patterns at sides, top and bottom, both sides of bag. Loops of stringed beads are intertwined and run all along the bottom of the bag. Bead colors are blue, black, green, rust, gold, aqua. Interior is lined with lavender fabric with pocket and mirror.
Description: Beaded evening bags have been popular accessories for many decades. The Museum Collection preserves over 150 purses - made of leather, mesh, embroidery, yarn and sequin - in addition to dozens of Plateau Indian beaded bags.
