Description: Gertrude McKernan served as a Red Cross Nurse in France during World War I. She retired from the Spokane Health Dept. R.N. The McKernans were pioneers of Spokane. She received the Victory Metal and a medal with inscription " Repvlioqve Francaise" with Mlle. McKernan 1919 engraved.
