Description: | An unknown artist captured this image of Spokane's Allan Campbell Powell (1920-1944) in the early 1930s, at the end of the miniature portrait painting revival, ca. 1890-1930. Contemporary art and design movements, as well as the new medium of photography, influenced the miniature portraits of this era, and by the 1920s these small paintings in folding cases were often referred to as "table portraits." |
